Attended: Lift Off 4 (August 2011)

Where were you in your entrepreneurial journey before Lift Off? Before Lift Off, I would spend 5 hours a day commuting to and from a 9-5 job that no longer resonated with how I was developing as a person and budding entrepreneur. I was looking into all sorts of online business models that didn’t answer some important questions for me–WHY build a business at all? Will devoting my energy to this venture bring about the changes I most want to see in the world? Lift Off was the first stop on my travels that convinced me that a business can be used as a vehicle for social change. Everyone there was shaping a future I wanted to see, but in their own way, and I could better understand where my business fit into the big picture.

What are you up to now? Not commuting! I’m running my own creative studio full-time and helping other business owners and organizations bring their big ideas to life through video and storytelling.

What was your favorite thing about Lift Off? The realization that the work I was doing, beyond building income, mattered to other entrepreneurs that were smarter and more experienced than me; and that we would support each other for years to come.
