Attended: Lift Off 3 (February 2011)
Where were you in your entrepreneurial journey before Lift Off? Before Lift Off, I was looking to define my business. I had “fallen into” becoming an entrepreneur, writer, consultant, and virtual assistant after getting laid off from my job as a librarian/editor. Although I liked entrepreneurship, I had the feeling I wasn’t doing the type of work I really wanted to do. I dreamt of doing something related to my interests in sustainable food but lacked the confidence and tools to give shape to this vision. I thought I would be too new to entrepreneurship, not to mention too introverted, to attend Lift Off but I made the leap and am so glad I did!
What are you up to now? I provide online strategy and communications services to sustainable food entrepreneurs like farmers, artisans, cooks, shop owners, and food tech startups. I’m also building communities around local food and focusing my writing on these subjects.
What was your favorite thing about Lift Off? At Lift Off, I found my entrepreneurial tribe. When powerful coaches, creative entrepreneurs, and all-around amazing human beings come together to learn from and lift each other, truly life-changing things happen.
