Attended: Lift Off 3 (February 2011)
Where were you in your entrepreneurial journey before Lift Off? Before Lift Off, I had a nice, small, cozy coaching practice. In Charliespeak, very much Stage One. Clients came to me by referral and because through dumb luck I am on the top of the google search for life coaches in my town. I was also spinning my wheels and getting quite creative at procrastinating. I knew I should be marketing myself, putting myself out there more consistently. I had been working on a new website for nearly a year, but got stuck when it came to services and pricing. I was dazed and confused. Though I had been coaching peeps for several years and felt quite comfortable as a coach, I felt very uncertain and new to the entrepreneurial and marketing/sales game.
What are you up to now? Since Lift Off, I am full out in Stage Two of business building. My biggest problem is that I can’t sleep as much as I used to… I’m too excited and filled with ideas and very much the energizer bunny. I can’t stop working! This is a nice problem to have.
I have measurable, concrete goals for each quarter of the rest of this year. My new website is up. I have new clients. Networking and visibility opportunities are landing in my lap every week. I have a vision for how my business is going to grow, and the absolute confidence that it will. Most importantly, I have two amazing coaches in Pam and Charlie, and a phenomenal group of peers that are boosting me and my business beyond my wildest dreams.
I was hoping something like this would happen when I signed up for Lift Off… but I had no idea that it would be this intense, this easy, this amazing. I know it sounds hyperbolic, but even that is not enough to capture the experience of Lift Off. Really, I think they should call it Blast Off. Out Of This World. Crazy Awesomesauce.
What Julica’s Up To, September 2011 Update:
Right out of Lift Off, I finished and published my new website, which had been “in the works” for over a year. Then I spent the spring and summer getting comfortable with facilitating virtual group environments. I started teaching at CoachVille. I created and ran a successful 12-week class that will soon become my subscription community. More recently, I took my website and moved it over to WordPress and started blogging. (Thank you Barbara Stafford and Kelly Kingman for all your amazing help!) I created and will be launching my first class next month. I started a free monthly conversation that has been getting great traction. I did a presentation locally that brought a new client and several new followers. I’ve lined up a presentation at Michigan State University that I intend will be the first of many speaking engagements.
What was your favorite thing about Lift Off? My favorite thing about Lift Off was the powerful and supportive community of peers. I now have a mastermind with four other Lift Off peeps. We meet every week and support each other in ways I could not have anticipated. Also, the larger LO community is absolutely fabulous. Not to mention that Pam and Charlie are the most generous, kind, present and helpful teachers I have ever worked with.
