Attended: Lift Off 3 (February 2011)
Where were you in your entrepreneurial journey before Lift Off? I was working incessantly on and in my law practice which focuses on Gen Y entrepreneurs. I had so many ideas about where to take my business next but no idea how or when. I desperately needed to lay down a clear vision of what type of lifestyle I wanted to have (which did not include working 14 hours every day) and what I wanted to accomplish in my business in the foreseeable future. I also needed some business management skills especially in the areas of productivity and sales.
What are you up to now? Currently, I am still practicing law for Gen Y entrepreneurs but thankfully am no longer working 14 hour days. I changed some of the structure of my practice which has increased business cash flow and met the needs of many of my cash strapped startup clients (yes, it is possible to do both!). And I am working on creating products for my client base that will meet their needs and create an opportunity for me to do more of the work I love (ie, teaching).
What was your favorite thing about Lift Off? I will name one favorite but I definitely have more than one. The genius of Lift Off is really in the amazing community you are instantly a part of as a result of attending. Not only are these people incredibly talented and ambitious, they are compassionate and relentlessly cheering for you. Combining all manner of talent and goodness in a group like this creates amazing opportunities for partnership, growth, friendship, creativity, etc. The brainstorming alone is worth the money!
